The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has restated the government’s backing of Air Peace amidst recent safety violation allegations made by the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) at Gatwick Airport.
In an official statement signed by the Minister and titled ‘Alleged Safety Violations By Air Peace At Gatwick Airport, United Kingdom,’ it was emphasized that Air Peace Airlines is the Nigerian flag carrier for the London route, enjoying full support from the Nigerian Government.
The Minister disclosed that the safety concerns brought up had been effectively addressed by Air Peace’s management and satisfactorily resolved with UK authorities.
Keyamo further expressed the government’s commitment to supporting Air Peace and other international carriers in achieving top-tier operational standards.
He stated, “The Federal Government has unreserved confidence in the safety of all Nigerian flag carriers operating on various international routes, including Air Peace, and will continue to provide support for their pursuit of operational excellence.
“We are fully behind all local airlines designated on international routes, including Air Peace, in their operations and will offer the necessary assistance to ensure their success.”
