Former Kano governorship candidate and ADC chieftain, Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Amin, popularly called Ibrahim Little, accused Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of overseeing the Kano Governor Yusuf corruption scandal which continues damaging Kano’s public trust, governance reputation, and weakening already fragile democratic accountability.
On Tuesday, Ibrahim Little released a strongly worded statement warning that the Kano Governor Yusuf corruption scandal highlights rising allegations demanding urgent, decisive action from Kano’s leadership to restore public confidence and institutional credibility immediately.
He cited a shocking report claiming EFCC and ICPC successfully traced ₦6.5bn directly to Yusuf’s protocol director, Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo.
“This situation must serve as an urgent wake-up call for Governor Yusuf to take decisive, immediate action,” he stressed.
Additionally, Little recalled allegations that local government funds were diverted purchasing drugs from NOVOMED, allegedly linked to Senator Kwankwaso’s nephew.
According to him, despite full payments, the drugs never reached government hospitals, raising troubling questions about transparency and accountability.
While accusing Governor Yusuf in the corruption scandal, Ibrahim Little highlighted another disturbing case where ₦1.1bn was forfeited to ICPC.
He faulted Yusuf for continuously blaming former governor Abdullahi Ganduje, stressing excuses cannot justify ongoing corruption within his administration presently.
Little further dismissed Yusuf’s claim that Ganduje spent ₦20bn on protocol in three months, describing it as diversionary politics.
“Nigerians currently face worsening economic hardship, with inflation rapidly rising, therefore leaders must genuinely safeguard scarce public funds,” he declared.
He reminded political leaders that ultimate accountability rests before God, stressing everyone must answer honestly for actions in leadership.
Finally, Little urged Governor Yusuf to stop misusing public funds immediately, because Kano citizens truly deserve integrity, accountability, and service.
