Speaking during the first Holy Ghost Night of the Year on Saturday, January 4, Adeboye acknowledged the image while addressing the congregation. With a calm demeanor, he remarked, “I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji.” His response highlighted his awareness of the online buzz surrounding the controversial image.
The image, first shared by an X user, @Sarkideyforyou, included the caption, “Pastor Adeboye may Allah guide you to the right path.” It garnered significant attention, with over 3.8 million views and thousands of interactions before the end of 2024. The post sparked both humorous and critical reactions, with many debating the implications of such AI-generated content.
Adeboye used the opportunity to address the rise of mockers and critics, predicting that many of them would not survive the year. While he did not delve deeply into the image’s intent, his remarks suggested a focus on the importance of faith and resilience amidst external distractions.
