Army Kills Three Terrorists Off Kaduna-Abuja Highway

In a sting operation near Ngwagi Hill, Gwagwada Community, off the Kaduna-Abuja Highway in Chikun LGA of Kaduna

State, troops of 1 Division, Nigerian Army, under Sector 4, Operation Fasan Yamma, have successfully neutralized

three violent extremists and insurgents (VEIs).

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the well-planned operation led to a shootout and the forced evacuation of multiple more

terrorists who were wounded by gunshots.

A statement from 1 Division, Kaduna, detailed the operation: “Acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement

of VEIs near Ngwagi Hill, troops were immediately deployed on a long-range fighting patrol to intercept the

insurgents. By 5:30 PM, the troops had successfully launched an ambush, neutralising three armed members of the

criminal group.”

Two AK-47 rifles, eight AK-47 rifle magazines, 374 rounds of 7.62mm x 39 special ammunition, 88 rounds of 7.62mm

x 54 NATO ammunition, and one Infinix cell phone were among the weapons and ammunition that the troops found

during the operation.

The statement emphasized that the forces’ strong morale, combat effectiveness, and efficient intelligence

cooperation were the main reasons the operation was successful.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force, Operation Fasan

Yamma, Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso, commended the troops for their tenacity and asked them to

continue their unrelenting efforts to eradicate all criminal elements in the region.
