The wife of the executive governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Patience Eno is dead. Ini Ememobong, the state commissioner for information, confirmed the first lady’s passing in a statement released in the early hours of Friday.
The commissioner indicated that the first lady passed away on Thursday 26th September, 2024 in a hospital, surrounded by her family.
He expressed Governor Umo Eno’s gratitude to friends and family who supported the family during this challenging period and said “Further details will be provided” in due course.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She peacefully departed this life on September 26, 2024, in the presence of her family,” the statement states.
“The family submits to the will of the Almighty and requests the prayers and support of compassionate individuals during this trying time. Additional information will be shared by the family as needed. Meanwhile, the family respectfully asks for privacy as they grieve the loss of their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
“His Excellency, Governor Pastor Umo Eno, expresses his appreciation to all who have supported the first family during this time and assures the citizens that, despite this significant personal loss, his dedication to serving the state remains steadfast.”
