The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has intensified fuel distribution across Nigeria using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks.

The refinery continues to supply Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at ₦850 per litre, despite a hike in the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited’s depot price to ₦900 per litre.
According to market data from Petroleumprice.ng, Dangote’s CNG-powered trucks have helped sustain supplies across major regions while reducing logistics costs and fuel consumption.
Depot Prices Surge Nationwide
Depot prices have risen steadily over the past week.
In Lagos, Aiteo and Pinnacle sold petrol at ₦890 and ₦870 per litre, while Integrated Oil and Gas priced its PMS at ₦870 per litre.
In Calabar, Matrix Energy and Northwest Petroleum sold between ₦880 and ₦890 per litre, with Sobaz Depot recording the highest rate of ₦900 per litre.
Chief Executive Officer of Petroleumprice.ng, Olatide Jeremiah, said depot prices have continued to climb.
“Generally, the depot prices have increased. Market data shows petrol sold between ₦870 and ₦900 per litre at key depots in Lagos and Calabar, reflecting a steady climb,” he explained.
He added that higher logistics costs, forex challenges, and market realignments were fueling the rise in prices.
Despite the upward trend, the Dangote Refinery has maintained stable supply through its expanding CNG truck network.
The refinery’s move is designed to cushion market volatility and support consistent petrol availability nationwide.
Energy analysts believe that once Dangote’s refining operations reach full capacity, petrol prices could stabilize or even decline.
The national average petrol price has now climbed by 6.8 percent week-on-week.
Motorists in major cities such as Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt have reported longer queues and higher pump prices.
