In yet another surprising development, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has declared a new nationwide pump price cut for Premium Motor Spirit (petrol).
Depending on the area, the new prices now range from ₦875 to ₦905 per litre.
Lagos: ₦875, South-West: ₦885, North-East: ₦905, North-West & Central: ₦895, and South-South & South-East: ₦905 are the updated rates broken down by region.
In all regions and partner retail outlets, prices show a ₦15 drop per litre.
All significant gasoline marketers that work with the refinery, such as MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy, are covered by it.
Lagos residents paid ₦890 per litre prior to the new price structure, while rates in the North East and South-South regions increased to ₦920.
Residents of Lagos will now pay ₦875, while those in the North East and South South will pay ₦905 per litre as a result of the recent change.
“Our quality petrol and diesel are refined for better engine performance and are environmentally friendly,” the company stated in the notice.
This comes after the refinery, which employs 650,000 people in Lekki, announced on Monday that it was able to lower the price of petrol at the pumps thanks to the naira-for-crude agreement.
The company said in a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, its Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, that the decision to keep prices stable demonstrates its steadfast dedication to bolstering the Nigerian economy and easing the financial strain on consumers caused by rising fuel prices.
