Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua’s promoter, has recently expressed confidence that his client, Joshua, and Daniel Dubois, another heavyweight contender, will likely compete for the IBF title currently held by Oleksandr Usyk, a Ukrainian boxer, according to recent statements.
Dubois won the between-times IBF heavyweight title on June 1 with a staggering eighth-round TKO triumph over the already undefeated Filip Hrgovic in Saudi Arabia.
SunSport reports that Joshua and Dubois are presently in talks over a colossal household dust-up at Wembley on either October 20 or 21 and Hearn is certain that the IBF title will be on the line.
“Will the Joshua-Dubois battle be for a title? For that, we require Usyk to be fair and concede that he doesn’t need to battle Dubois, who is the required challenger. Usyk ought to battle him, but he incorporates a rematch with Wrath.
“Joshua and Dubois will battle for the IBF title, whereas all other belts will be on the line within the Usyk-Fury rematch. At that point, the champs of these battles may confront each other for the undisputed championship,” said Hearn.
The rematch between Usyk and Tyson Anger is planned for December 21, a month after Joshua and Dubois’ proposed bout.
Joshua has rediscovered himself with four wins on the bounce, the foremost later being his brutal second-round KO of previous UFC heavyweight winner Francis Ngannou.
However, he’s denying to miss Dubois, who bounced back from his TKO misfortune to Usyk with progressive stoppages of Jarrell Mill operator and Hrgovic.
The former two-time bound together heavyweight winner said, “I’ve need to choose them off one by one.
“It’s not planning to be simple, but that’s my attitude. So come one, come all… He (Dubois) has been in harder battles, so he gets to be solidified.
“He has worked his way up the ladder, we’ll see what happens within the close future. Wembley, O2, York Corridor – wherever they put me, I’m cheerful to fight. Any scene, I’ll turn up and do my job.”
