The Edo state gubernatorial candidate representing the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Pastor Azemhe Azena, has been suspended by the executive members of his ward in Ward 10, located in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
The suspension letter concerning Pastor Azemhe Azena was discovered by reporters in Benin City, following its delivery to the party’s state chairman, and was duly acknowledged by the party leadership.
The correspondence was officially endorsed by the chairman of Ward 10 in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, Honorable Kadiri Eshimokha, along with the Secretary, Comrade lmonikho Abdul, the Woman Leader, Mrs. Stella Afebua, and the Youth Leader, Comrade Eshiobo Johnson.
The letter outlined the grounds for Pastor Azemhe Azena’s suspension from the NNPP, which included allegations of gross misconduct, failure to adhere to party directives, and engagement in activities contrary to the party’s interests.
Copies of the suspension notice have been distributed to the national chairman of the party, the chairman of NNPP in Edo State, the vice chairman of NNPP in Edo North, and the local chapter leader of Etsako East Local Government.
Additionally, copies of the suspension letter have been provided to the Vice Chairman of NNPP in the South-South region, the national chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of INEC in Edo State.
Responding swiftly, Pastor Azemhe Azena, the NNPP candidate for governorship in Edo State, dismissed the suspension announcement as fraudulent and insignificant.
He emphasized that the legitimate chairman of NNPP in Ward 10 of Etsako East Local Government chapter, Mr. Goddy lyamah, has promptly denied the allegations, asserting that the individuals mentioned in the suspension letter are not affiliated with the party.
