EPL: Former Arsenal Star Urges Club to Make Key Signings Before Transfer Window Closes

Former Arsenal player Emmanuel Petit has called on the club to strengthen their squad by signing a new striker, winger, and midfielder before the summer transfer window closes at the end of this month.

Petit believes that reinforcing these three key areas will significantly boost Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League this season, especially in their competition against reigning champions Manchester City.

Petit’s call for new signings comes after Arsenal made several moves in the transfer market this summer. The club secured David Raya on a permanent deal following his successful loan spell last season. Additionally, Arsenal has added Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad to their roster. These additions are seen as positive steps, but Petit argues they are not enough to ensure a Premier League title challenge.

Petit’s view is that while Arsenal has shown progress, particularly with the impressive performance of new signing Savinho, they still need more depth and quality in their squad. “Arsenal needs to add more players to the squad to be able to win the Premier League. Manchester City remains the standard that Arsenal has to reach,” Petit explained. He emphasized that Manchester City continues to be the team to beat, and despite Arsenal’s improvements, they are still not quite on the same level.

Petit expressed optimism about Arsenal’s future, noting that the team has been improving steadily over the years. He believes that if Arsenal can make the right signings, the gap between them and Manchester City could become minimal. “I think this year could be the one for Arsenal. They have been consistently improving, and with the right additions to their squad, the difference between Arsenal and Manchester City could be very small,” he said.

According to Petit, adding a winger, a striker, and a midfielder is crucial for Arsenal to strengthen their squad and increase their chances of securing the Premier League title. He stressed that these positions are essential for balancing the team and providing the necessary support for their attacking and defensive strategies.

Petit’s advice underscores the importance of making strategic signings to compete at the highest level. Arsenal’s ability to add these key players before the transfer window closes could be pivotal in their quest for Premier League glory this season.
