In a significant move to bolster security and protect the well-being of citizens, Governor Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has commissioned the operational office for the Quick Response Unit (QRU) of the Nigeria Police Force, Kogi State Command.

The commissioning ceremony, which took place today, marks a major milestone in Governor Ododo’s commitment to combating insecurity and ensuring the safety of Kogi State residents. In his remarks, Governor Ododo emphasized his proactive approach to security, stating, “I was not elected to condole and sympathize with victims of insecurity, but to take decisive action against criminals and kidnappers. I will continue to strengthen the security architecture of our state, working tirelessly to ensure the protection of our people.”

The Quick Response Unit, a specialized unit of the Nigeria Police Force, is designed to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, crimes, and security threats. The operational office, now fully commissioned, will serve as a hub for coordinating QRU activities, enhancing response times, and improving overall security in Kogi State.

Governor Ododo commended the security outfits in the state for their dedication and hard work in maintaining peace and order. “I applaud the efforts of our security agencies, who work tirelessly to keep Kogi State secure and safe. This commissioning is a resolve to our collaborative approach to security, and I am confident that together, we will continue to make our state a haven for citizens and visitors alike.”

Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of collaboration and synergy among security agencies in the state in order to effectively combat crime and ensure the safety of the people. He called on the residents of Kogi State to support the security agencies in their efforts to rid the state of criminals and criminal activities.

The commissioning of the QRU operational office is a significant step forward in Governor Ododo’s comprehensive security strategy, which includes investing in modern security infrastructure, enhancing community policing, and fostering partnerships with security agencies.

With this development, Kogi State residents can expect improved response times, enhanced security presence, and a safer environment. Governor Ododo’s commitment to security and well-being demonstrates his dedication to building a prosperous and peaceful Kogi State for all.
