A group of protesters staged a peaceful demonstration along Gomari Airport – Bulumkutu Ward in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State. The protesters, predominantly youth, displayed placards with messages expressing their grievances, such as ‘Ba Maso’ (We no agree), ‘Tinubu must reverse or reinstate fuel subsidy’, ‘We are suffering from hunger and insecurity’, and ‘Just yesterday, 20 people were killed in a suicide attack in Kawuri, Konduga LGA’.
Our correspondent observed that the protesters conducted themselves peacefully, despite the presence of some security personnel who seemed to be acknowledging them. Additionally, it was noted that there were limited business activities occurring in certain areas, with some filling stations operating with reduced services.
