Dederi stated that the Appeal Court’s decision was misinterpreted by some quarters, leading to confusion among the general public. He emphasized that the court’s ruling was not a reversal of the earlier judgment that upheld Emir Sanusi’s reinstatement.
The Commissioner of Justice explained that the Appeal Court’s decision was actually a routine application for a stay of execution pending the hearing and determination of the subsisting appeal before the Supreme Court. He described the application as a normal and usual routine in judicial processes.
Dederi assured the public that the Kano State Government has instructed its lawyers to study the outcome of the Appeal Court’s ruling and determine the next line of action in accordance with the state’s extant laws.
