The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress firmly refutes Atiku Abubakar’s claim of EFCC weaponisation.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, described Atiku’s remarks as a deliberate attempt to distort facts and mislead Nigerians.
According to Oladejo, President Bola Tinubu remains resolute in upholding the rule of law without interfering in anti-corruption agencies’ work.
He stressed that the EFCC functions independently, free from political bias, and operates strictly based on credible intelligence and evidence.
Oladejo accused the former Vice President of hypocrisy, claiming he now undermines institutions he once publicly supported while in office.
He emphasised that the APC has no influence over EFCC operations, which continue without fear or favour towards political affiliations.
The party noted that those with clean hands should not fear EFCC investigations, as the agency acts within its constitutional mandate.
Oladejo insisted that the opposition’s conspiracy theories aim to distract from unanswered questions regarding Atiku’s public service record.
He urged Atiku to prioritise clarifying controversies surrounding his tenure instead of discrediting Nigeria’s vital anti-corruption institutions.
Reiterating its confidence ahead of 2027 elections, the APC maintained it does not employ illicit strategies to secure electoral victory.
The Lagos APC dismissed Atiku’s statement as political grandstanding, urging Nigerians to focus on supporting ongoing anti-corruption initiatives nationwide. Lagos APC refutes Atiku EFCC claim
It further affirmed that the APC continues earning public trust through purposeful governance, infrastructure growth, and social welfare programmes.
Oladejoin his statement said the Lagos APC refutes Atiku EFCC claim stating that Atiku’s comments is an unfortunate reflection of a politician unsettled by repeated electoral defeats and seeking attention.
He concluded by calling on Nigerians to disregard the claim and support building a safer, prosperous, corruption-free country.
