The Federal Government has issued a statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the shooting of an
Immigration officer in Niger State.
According to the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, further investigations have revealed that the officer was
hit by a stray bullet.
This development contradicts earlier reports suggesting that the Immigration officer was intentionally shot by a
Chinese businessman in Minna, Niger State. The Minister’s statement emphasized that the shooting was not carried
out on the orders of the Chinese company or its employee.
The government has launched a full-scale investigation into the incident, collaborating with other security agencies to
unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The Minister assured that anyone found culpable would be
brought to book.
