The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) intends to appoint an overseas technical advisor for the Super Eagles in the near future, as reported by UMPIRE Sports Report.
This resolution was reached during an executive committee session on Thursday, June 14.
The NFF has refrained from making any statements regarding the future of the current coach, Finidi George.
The federation has expressed apprehensions regarding the commitment of certain Super Eagles players to their national duties and has promised to recruit more players for the squad. In light of the subpar performance of the national team in recent World Cup qualifiers, the NFF’s resolution has put Finidi George’s position in jeopardy, even though no official pronouncement has been issued concerning his contract. Having managed the team for two matches, Finidi has yet to secure a victory, settling for a draw against South Africa at home and suffering a defeat to the Benin Republic on the road.
During an emergency gathering, the NFF appealed to Nigerians for patience and outlined three key decisions. Their objectives include ensuring the Super Eagles’ qualification for the World Cup by enlisting the services of a foreign technical advisor and identifying more dedicated Nigerian players.
