Advonics Services Nigeria Limited, a leading technology company, has launched a state-of-the-art anti-terrorism device designed to detect explosives and enhance national security. The device, known as the Itemis er 5X, is an advanced explosive trace detection system aimed at improving safety at key checkpoints and transportation hubs across the country.

According to a statement released by the company, the Itemiser 5X is a highly accurate and cost-effective solution for detecting trace amounts of explosives and narcotics. “The Itemiser 5X uses optimised detection libraries and advanced software algorithms, making it the ideal solution for detecting trace amounts of explosive and narcotic threats,” the statement noted.
The device employs sophisticated detection libraries and software algorithms to swiftly identify potential threats. It is ideal for use at high-traffic locations such as airports, train stations, and other commercial facilities, helping to prevent security breaches and enhance public safety.

The Itemiser 5X is a portable, ergonomic desktop design that features automated internal calibration to help decrease consumable usage, boost availability rates, and increase detection probability. It also has a nonradioactive ionization source that eliminates the need for annual wipe tests and licensing, as well as reduces shipping challenges.
The device is designed to detect a wide range of narcotics and explosives in the nanogram range. “Substances are identified by comparing the measured values with optimised, integrated detection libraries and advanced software algorithms,” the statement explained.

Advonics Services Nigeria Limited emphasized the crucial role Nigeria’s infrastructure plays in the nation’s economic stability and public safety. “From airports to seaports, rail terminals, and power facilities, these structures are vital to the country’s economy but are also vulnerable to terrorism, theft, vandalism, and smuggling,” the statement noted.
The company stressed the need for effective security measures to safeguard these key assets. “In light of increasing criminal activities and rising geopolitical tensions, there is an urgent need for effective security measures that can safeguard these key assets,” the statement said.

The Itemiser 5X has been approved by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and is used as an approved technology in air cargo screening. It is also compliant with industry standards and regulatory body specifications. Advonics Services Nigeria Limited has been at the forefront of providing security solutions to various sectors in Nigeria. The company has been in operation for over 15 years and has established itself as a leader in the security industry.

The launch of the Itemiser 5X is a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to enhance national security and prevent terrorism. “We are committed to providing cutting-edge security solutions to our clients, and we believe that the Itemiser 5X will play a critical role in enhancing national security,” the company said.
The Itemiser 5X is available for purchase and deployment in various sectors, including aviation, transportation, and critical infrastructure.
