Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared three days of mourning in honor of the late Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tayo Oluwatuyi, who passed away on Saturday. Oluwatuyi, affectionately called “Tukana,” succumbed to injuries sustained in a motor accident along the Ife-Ibadan Expressway.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, alongside members of his executive council, visited the bereaved family in Akure to express condolences and announce the mourning period. He described Oluwatuyi as a pivotal figure in Ondo’s political landscape, whose contributions to governance will remain indelible.
“Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi lived a fulfilled life, serving the people and leaving a legacy of dedication. Though his departure was unexpected, we take solace in the belief that he rests in God’s bosom,” Aiyedatiwa remarked.
President Bola Tinubu and other state governors have also extended their sympathies to the people of Ondo State. In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded Oluwatuyi for his commitment to policy implementation and the progress of Ondo State.
The late Oluwatuyi’s death marks a significant loss to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo, where he played a crucial role. Aiyedatiwa assured the deceased’s family of the state government’s unwavering support during this challenging time.
