Former APC National Treasurer Fanda Adamu has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has no chance in 2027, insisting the opposition has collapsed politically. He made this remark on Wednesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today while reacting to PDP’s zoning decision.
Adamu emphasized again that PDP has no chance in 2027, comparing the party to a headless chicken struggling without direction. He dismissed PDP’s recent attempts at repositioning, stressing they lack the strength to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress.
He highlighted the deep internal divisions between Atiku Abubakar and Nyesom Wike as clear evidence of the PDP’s decline. According to him, Atiku has practically abandoned the party while Wike remains half inside and half outside politically.
“The PDP is dead. You know PDP now is just like a chicken whose head has been cut off. It can continue to wriggle but, you know, it’s dead. The head has been cut off. They are still wriggling,” Adamu said.
He further mocked the PDP’s zoning move, arguing that no matter the region chosen, the party stands no realistic chance. He stated that even zoning the presidency “to the ocean” would not stop them from losing disastrously in 2027.
Adamu’s statement comes at a time when the PDP is battling internal crises and divisions over its zoning formula. Some members see the decision as a rebuilding step, while others warn it could worsen existing disunity across the opposition party.
