Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who is currently a Senator in the Red Chambers, has urged Nigerians to exercise patience and trust in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, arguing that despite the current inflationary pressure and high cost of living, the government’s policies will eventually yield positive results. In light of the naira’s recent float and the removal of fuel subsidies, which led to inflation reaching 34.19% in June 2024,
In a recent interview, Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North in the Nigerian Senate, expressed his confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s policies, emphasizing that the effects of some of these policies might not be immediately evident, but could take up to a year or more to manifest.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole asserted that it would not be in President Bola Tinubu’s best interest to implement short-sighted policies that might provide temporary relief, but fail to address the root causes of Nigeria’s economic challenges. Instead, he suggested that citizens should trust in the president’s judgment and long-term vision.

Oshiomhole also addressed the recent return of Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This development came after Shaibu, who had previously defected to an opposition party, officially rejoined the APC during a campaign rally held in Edo State.

At the rally, he was welcomed back by the APC’s governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa. Shaibu used the event to reconcile with his political mentor, Oshiomhole.
It’s important to note that Shaibu left the APC after Governor Godwin Obaseki’s reelection, moving to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Despite their previous disagreements, Oshiomhole sees Shaibu’s return as a normal part of political dynamics.
