Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his commitment to a harmonious working relationship with the new Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda. The governor made this assurance during a courtesy visit by the Speaker and other principal officers at his office in Alausa, Ikeja, on Monday.
Speaking during the meeting, which also included Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Sanwo-Olu expressed optimism about the alignment between the executive and legislative arms of the state government. He noted that such synergy would ensure the continued implementation of policies aimed at achieving the “Greater Lagos” vision and delivering transformative progress across all sectors.
Meranda, who assumed office last week after the removal of her predecessor, Mudashiru Obasa, pledged to maintain a collaborative approach with the executive arm. Her administration has already taken steps to restructure the Assembly’s leadership, including the establishment of a seven-member Selection Committee.
The governor commended the Speaker and her team for their commitment to transparent governance, highlighting the importance of legislative-executive cooperation in making Lagos a model of excellence in public administration.
