Experienced on-screen character, Shan George, has said that it is unjustifiable to fault Nollywood for waning ethics in society.
She kept up to Saturday Beats that the motion picture industry as it were mirrors what is happening in society.
She said, “There is developing debauchery in society these days, but I do not get it Nollywood’s portion in it. We make motion pictures that relate to what’s happening in our environment. Moreover, when making motion pictures, we appear off-base things and let the watchers know the results of doing great or terrible. It is at that point up to people to observe right from off base. I have observed motion pictures approximately drugs, but that did not make me begin taking drugs. Things influence individuals in an unexpected way. Accusing Nollywood completely for the rot in societal values is out of line since the industry is as it were anticipating what is happening in society. It is cleared out for individuals to see what is happening, and make their choice. It is all around profound quality at the conclusion of the day.”
Reviewing how she was able to urge back N3.6m stolen from her bank account by fraudsters, she said, “Immediately it happened, I began sending emails to my bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the Financial and Budgetary Violations Commission. That night, the matter was raised, and I accept that’s why they were able to follow the money so rapidly. The stolen cash was followed through a few bank accounts sometime recently it was at last recuperated from an account in a microfinance bank.”
Talking about how the current state of undertakings within the nation influences her as a filmmaker, she said, “The state of the country is influencing me in numerous ways. Undoubtedly, there’s a long list. In a few nations, the youth get a stipend to back them, but that does not happen here. Another thing that influences me as a filmmaker is the truth that numerous stages that are implied to assist offer my works do not work in Nigeria, and are not monetized in this nation. That makes it difficult to recover one’s investments in creating movies.”
