Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has openly endorsed President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.
The governor disclosed that they have maintained a close friendship spanning more than 22 years of political and personal relations.
Speaking after a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Soludo praised Tinubu’s bold economic and structural reform initiatives.
He stressed that all political parties committed to progressivism should unite in a coalition to advance national development.
Soludo wore a white cap bearing Tinubu’s insignia, declaring progressives are working together towards shared democratic and economic objectives.
He insisted that loyalty to long-standing friendships and shared reformist values justified his unwavering public support for the president.
Regarding security, Soludo revealed that deadly native doctors misleading youths into criminality have fled due to targeted enforcement actions.
He explained that a new Homeland Security Law passed in January has significantly improved the state’s overall safety situation.
The governor said his administration uses both kinetic operations and non-kinetic strategies like job creation to tackle insecurity effectively.
He emphasised that youth empowerment remains central to preventing crime and promoting sustainable peace across the state’s local communities.
Soludo reported that over 5,000 youths completed a one-year skills training program, while 8,700 will soon receive business funding.
He projected that thousands of youth millionaires will emerge within three years, strengthening the state’s economy and social stability.
On economic hardship, Soludo pointed to investments in infrastructure, healthcare, and education alongside proactive economic empowerment policies.
He affirmed his administration’s determination to combine intelligence gathering, targeted security measures, and decisive governance for continued progress.
