Jennifer Onyi Echegini, a standout player for Nigeria’s Super Falcons, has revealed her departure from Juventus Ladies, as reported by Umpirenews.
Midfielder Echegini took to her Instagram recently to announce her departure from the Italian club she joined just six months ago. Reports suggest she is set to embark on a new chapter with Paris Saint-Germain in France.
During her brief stint in Italy, Echegini’s performance was nothing short of remarkable, culminating in her winning the coveted eBay MVP award for the top Under-23 player in the women’s Serie A. Over the course of 14 matches, she netted an impressive 10 goals and contributed with an assist, establishing herself as one of the league’s brightest young talents.

In her heartfelt farewell message, Echegini expressed deep appreciation for her time in Turin: “As I reflect on my journey here, I want to extend my sincere gratitude. Despite any challenges we faced, I am immensely thankful for being a part of this wonderful family. Living and competing in Turin has been an incredible experience of growth and learning. The memories forged here will forever hold a special place in my heart and will undoubtedly shape my future endeavors.”

She went on to thank her teammates and coaches, emphasizing the familial atmosphere within the club:
“To my teammates and coaches, you have made me feel truly at home. Working alongside such dedicated and inspiring women has been immensely rewarding. I wish each of you the very best in your future pursuits.”

Echegini’s football journey is enriched by her diverse background, having started her youth career at Arsenal before spells at two clubs in the United States. Her arrival at Juventus in January immediately made waves, showcasing her dynamic style of play and international experience.
Notably, she was a pivotal figure in the Nigerian women’s team’s journey to the Round of 16 in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand.
As she prepares to join PSG, Echegini’s story continues to evolve, promising new chapters filled with ambition and dedication to the sport she loves.
