Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris has stated that President Bola Tinubu has recorded many achievements in the development of the South East since he resumed office in Aso Rock.
The meeting made the statement on Thursday, in Umuahia, during a town hall meeting and sensitisation programme about the Federal government’s South East milestone under President Bola Tinubu.
Represented by the head of Federal Information Centre (FIC), Abia State office, Mrs Gloria Abiakam, Idris stated that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu gave attention to critical sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, education, infrastructure and youth employment.
“Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, several critical sectors are receiving attention long overdue”, the Minister said.
He listed the Cancer Centre equipped with MRI machine at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, students loan scheme, agricultural intervention programs, ongoing upgrade of Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway, First Lady’s empowerment programme, among others, as the benefits of Tinubu administration to the South East.
The Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), in Abia State, Rev. Ojo Ojo Uduma, in his remarks during the event, appealed to President Bola Tinubu to tackle the rising insecurity in the country.
The Chairman of Abia State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board, Sheik Ali Ukiwo also urged President Tinubu to restore the rail line which previously connected Umuahia with Kano and other Northern States, to boost commerce.
