The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, revealed that President Bola Tinubu has sanctioned the construction of 40 residences for the Justices of the Court of Appeal, the Federal High Court, and the FCT High Courts.
This declaration was made by Wike during the groundbreaking ceremony for the court complex of the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal, which was held at the designated site in Dakibiyu, Jabi District, Abuja, on Wednesday.
He also stated that the President has endorsed the establishment of retirement homes for the heads of courts, including the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, the Chief Judge of the FCT, the President of the National Industrial Court, and the President of the Court of Appeal.
“I want to assure you that, with divine assistance, the foundations of these residences will be laid this August, and by September next year, you will all be in possession of the keys to your new homes,” reassured Wike.

Media reports on Tuesday indicated that the Minister inaugurated the inaugural Taxi and Bus terminal in Kugbo, Karu District of Abuja.
Furthermore, the FCT Minister emphasized the challenges faced by commuters in the FCT, especially during the rainy season, leading to loss of productivity hours due to the lack of public transportation infrastructure.
