Nigerian media icon and political figure Dele Momodu says the All Progressives Congress (APC) has entered panic mode over the 2027 election.
He claimed the ruling party is rushing its 2027 campaign plans because the opposition coalition has caught them completely unprepared.
Speaking on Arise News, Momodu explained that the APC underestimated the opposition and now feels threatened by their renewed momentum.
He revealed that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has outplayed the APC politically, using tactics they did not expect at all.
Momodu recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and officially joined the ADC-led opposition coalition to support a national realignment.
According to him, unresolved internal disputes within the PDP forced him and others to explore better political alternatives elsewhere.
He said the PDP failed to heal after its 2023 election defeat, making internal meetings and strategy sessions nearly impossible.
Momodu added that key presidential hopefuls felt sidelined, creating friction that the party leadership failed to resolve effectively over time.
He stressed that rather than remain reactive, the opposition must now confront the APC directly and match their political aggression.
Opposition Strategy: “Play Them at Their Own Game”
“The APC started early, but now they’re shocked because we’re playing them in a way they didn’t anticipate,” he said.
He also accused the APC of plotting to destabilize the ADC because the party poses a real electoral threat in 2027.
Momodu said Nigerians are tired of empty politics and need leaders focused on governance, not power struggles or ethnic zoning.
He noted that while citizens suffer economic hardship, politicians remain distracted by ambition and 2027 electoral scheming above national development.
He warned that the ADC coalition will not back down and plans to challenge the APC’s dominance with renewed grassroots energy.
Momodu expressed confidence that this opposition realignment will reshape Nigeria’s political future if it sustains unity, strategy, and focused leadership.
