The ADC faction rejects coalition takeover, warning opposition leaders not to hijack the party for personal ambition.
Musa Isa Matara, ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, issued a firm statement condemning the attempted merger without grassroots approval.
He declared that party stakeholders, including youth, women, and state executives, were excluded from coalition consultations and decisions.
Matara said no party convention or national executive committee approved any appointments linked to the proposed opposition coalition.
He criticized elite politicians for trying to use the ADC as a private coalition platform for selfish political deals.
“This ADC faction rejects coalition takeover because our members were never involved in any agreement or appointment decisions,” he stated.
Matara insisted that the party belongs to its members, not political traders looking to exploit internal party crises.
He emphasized that all coalition discussions without a clear legal foundation would collapse and damage the ADC’s democratic structure.
“We have pending court cases since 2023, and nothing has been resolved to support any legitimate merger or alliance,” Matara explained.
He urged new entrants joining through the coalition to tread carefully and respect ADC’s legal and democratic processes.
“Our members must defend the party’s integrity and oppose any attempt to trade it for personal political survival,” he said.
Matara added that anyone forcing a coalition without grassroots support disrespects party democracy and constitutional ethics in politics.
He promised that the ADC would continue resisting imposition and fighting to preserve its autonomy as a credible opposition platform.
Analysts believe this development signals tension in opposition ranks ahead of critical coalition planning for the 2027 elections.
The ADC faction rejects coalition takeover because members deserve transparency, fairness, and full involvement in every major party decision.
