The ANPP bloc in APC has issued a stern warning to President Tinubu regarding the 2027 Vice presidential slot general elections arrangement.
They insist that the vice presidential seat must remain within their bloc or risk a serious political fallout.
According to the group, they have endured long-standing marginalization from both the CPC and ACN political blocs since 2015.
Speaking under the Association of Former ANPP Members, the bloc demanded fair inclusion in all APC leadership structures.
At a press briefing in Abuja, National Coordinator Prof. Vitalis Ajumbe voiced the group’s concerns and specific expectations.
He emphasized that the vice presidency should remain with ANPP, being the second-largest contributor to APC’s formation.
Ajumbe cautioned Tinubu that any move to shift the seat would betray the bloc’s loyalty and political investments.
He said, “The ticket you’re holding will fail if ANPP is excluded from the 2027 APC presidential ticket again.”
He reminded Tinubu that ANPP made major sacrifices during the 2013 APC merger led by late Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu.
At that time, ANPP received the interim national secretary slot, acknowledging its status as a founding legacy party.
Unfortunately, the bloc claims the last eight years under Buhari saw the complete alienation of former ANPP loyalists.
They said Buhari, who launched his career in ANPP, abandoned them and favored CPC members for all key positions.
Unlike Buhari, they noted Tinubu understands grassroots politics and should prioritize political equity among APC legacy blocs.
The ANPP bloc warned that excluding them from ministerial and federal appointments breaches merger fairness and shared vision.
The group listed strong ANPP-aligned leaders, including VP Kashim Shettima and Governors Zulum and Mai Mala Buni.
Also mentioned were ex-governors, senators, and national party executives who helped fund and build the APC structure.
They called for renewed unity, reminding Tinubu that continued exclusion contradicts the values behind his Renewed Hope Agenda.
