The former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has explained his absence during Tinubu Kano visit visit to Kano.
Ganduje, who recently stepped down from party leadership, cited a pre-scheduled personal commitment in London as the reason.
Sources close to him confirmed that the trip began five days after he formally resigned as APC National Chairman in Abuja.
Muhammad Garba, his former Chief of Staff, issued a statement on Saturday clarifying Ganduje absence during Tinubu Kano visit
Garba dismissed circulating rumours suggesting Ganduje was ill or deliberately excluded from President Tinubu’s official itinerary.
He emphasized that the former governor was fully informed of the Kano visit but could not alter his travel plans.
Garba explained that although Ganduje tried rescheduling, he could not reconcile the London commitment with the President’s visit.
Nonetheless, Ganduje remained actively engaged and constantly communicated with key party stakeholders despite being overseas.
“He stayed in touch hourly with leaders like Senator Barau Jibrin and APC Kano Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas,” Garba stated.
The condolence visit aimed to sympathize with the family of the late industrialist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, in Kano.
Garba stressed that Ganduje’s resignation had no effect on his loyalty to Tinubu or the party’s core leadership.
He described their political relationship as deeply rooted in trust, mutual vision, and long-term strategic collaboration.
Moreover, he reaffirmed that APC Kano remains strong, united, and firmly aligned with President Tinubu’s national leadership.
This clarification comes amid speculation following Ganduje’s silence during a high-profile event in his political base.
