Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State denies defection rumours, affirming full loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He made the statement after launching the dualisation of a 3.5km road project in Ila-Orangun, Osun State.
The governor emphasized his continued commitment to governance, saying he would not be distracted by political speculations or noise.
Adeleke stated he vowed before God and Osun people to remain focused and deliver quality democratic dividends throughout.
He confirmed that his government has rebuilt, repaired, or upgraded more than 175 kilometres of roads statewide since assuming office.
Additional road dualisation projects and flyovers are actively ongoing across strategic parts of Osun, improving transport and infrastructure connectivity.
At Ikirun, while launching the Ikirun-Ila-Odo expressway, he emphasized the strategic importance of connecting towns across state borders.
He said the full route from Osogbo to Ila-Odo—bordering Kwara—is essential for Osun’s long-term development planning.
According to him, the second phase spans almost the same distance earlier completed in twelve years by past administrations.
Governor Adeleke said his team intends to deliver the project within one year, showing speed and clear administrative focus.
He described the event as divinely orchestrated and said their political success is no accident, but divine fulfilment in motion.
Meanwhile, APC governorship hopeful Bola Oyebamiji criticized Adeleke’s leadership, accusing him of mismanaging increasing revenues without tangible development returns.
Oyebamiji, who leads the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), addressed supporters during his visit to Ijesa-North federal constituency.
He urged APC members to disregard rumours, adding that Adeleke remains outside APC despite claims making media rounds.
According to him, Minister Adegboyega Oyetola has assured party faithful that no defection would compromise APC’s strategic stability.
Oyebamiji said the local government chairmanship dispute would favour APC eventually, before the 2026 gubernatorial elections arrive.
