Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has affirmed his loyalty to the PDP and has firmly denied rumours of defecting to the ADC before the 2026 gubernatorial election.
His spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, issued a statement affirming Governor Adeleke’s PDP loyalty and dismissing recent media reports.
Rasheed described the defection claims as baseless and misleading, warning political actors against spreading unverified political propaganda in Osun.
He emphasized that Governor Adeleke will run for re-election under the PDP and does not need another party’s platform.
According to Rasheed, the governor’s popularity, anchored in performance and integrity, makes coalition-building unnecessary for future electoral success.
“The governor has no alliance with the ADC or any political group. He remains fully grounded within the PDP,” he said.
He added that Adeleke enjoys massive support from Osun residents, owing to his administration’s achievements in infrastructure and public welfare.
The PDP in Osun State has already pledged support for President Tinubu’s 2027 bid, Rasheed disclosed, underscoring internal party unity.
While speaking, he noted that Adeleke remains focused on expanding infrastructure, job creation, and other democratic dividends across Osun State.
He stated that voters remain satisfied with the administration’s progress and eager to renew Adeleke’s mandate through the 2026 election.
“The people believe in Adeleke. His transformative projects have restored hope and confidence in governance,” Rasheed confidently declared.
Governor Adeleke also encouraged all PDP members to strengthen internal structures and build momentum ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial contest.
He reassured party members that their unity and grassroots engagement will be key to another PDP victory across Osun State next year.
