Benue South senator and Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has described as misleading and the handiwork of mischief makers, reports that he is set resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This was contained in a statement by his his Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun, on Tuesday.
Moro described the report as misleading, maintaining that he held no discussions with anyone about defecting from the party.
The statement said that the Senate Minority leader, who is a founding member of the PDP, insisted that he remains fully committed to the party’s ideals and had no intention of abandoning it despite its current internal crises.
“Senator Moro finds the rumour ridiculous as there’s no discussion anywhere with anybody to that effect. The Senator, a founding member of PDP, remains fully committed to the ideals and values of the party, and will continue to remain with it,” the statement said.
The lawmaker, while acknowledging ongoing internal political wranglings in the party, expressed optimism in the party’s internal conflict-resolution structures, saying it has effective inbuilt mechanisms to address its issues.
