Vote counting has officially begun at Polling Unit 024, Ward B, Makoko, during the Lagos Local Government elections.
In contrast, Polling Unit 002 within the same ward remained inactive, with LASIEC officials awaiting the arrival of voters.
Despite calm conditions throughout Yaba, many polling units witnessed significantly low voter turnout, according to LASIEC officers.
At Ward F, Unit 012 on Iwaya Road, voting was still underway, but turnout remained lower than initially anticipated.
Other areas within Iwaya reported sluggish activity, with officials urging residents to participate before polls close at 3:00 p.m.
In Ward G at St. Timothy College, voting progressed orderly across Units 001, 002, 003, 004, and 005.
Observers confirmed peaceful conduct across Yaba but warned low participation could undermine the election’s democratic inclusiveness.
LASIEC officials continued to encourage eligible citizens to exercise their civic duty before the official close of polls in the Lagos Local Government elections.
