Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has unveiled a massive N159 billion infrastructure development plan aimed at transforming the state’s road network, healthcare system, and education sector. This announcement comes barely 17 months after his N100 billion plan was launched in October 2023.

The governor revealed that the previous plan had been a resounding success, with over 150 kilometers of roads reconstructed, 200 primary health centers renovated, and 99 schools rehabilitated. Several dualization and flyover projects are also nearing completion.

Adeleke’s new plan allocates a substantial N101.8 billion for road infrastructure projects, including the reconstruction of several major roads. These projects are expected to improve connectivity and stimulate economic growth across the state.

In addition to road infrastructure, the plan also allocates N1.98 billion for education sector renovations and upgrades. This includes the renovation of several schools, such as Ede High School, Agbonran School of Science, and Oranmiyan Memorial Grammar School.

The healthcare sector will also receive a significant boost, with N2.76 billion allocated for the renovation of 124 primary healthcare centers across the state. This effort aims to improve healthcare accessibility and delivery, particularly in rural areas.

Governor Adeleke emphasized that the new plan will be financed through a combination of state allocations, internally generated revenue, and special funds recovered from the federal government. He assured the public that the state will not incur any additional debt to execute these projects.

The governor’s commitment to infrastructure development is expected to have a positive impact on Osun State’s economy and quality of life. With this new plan, Adeleke aims to build on the successes of his previous infrastructure initiatives and take the state to new heights.
