The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Nnanna Uzor-Kalu, the younger brother of Senator Orji Uzor-Kalu, as a
member of the National Assembly Service Commission. Uzor-Kalu’s confirmation was initially deferred due to a petition against him.
However, after the Senate Ethics Committee submitted its report recommending his nomination, Uzor-Kalu’s confirmation was approved on Thursday. He joined 11 others who were cleared last week.
Uzor-Kalu, a former two-term House of Representatives member, was nominated from the South-East region. His confirmation brings the total number of members of the National Assembly Service Commission to 12.
The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Cyril Fasuyi, presented the list of confirmed members during Thursday’s plenary. Fasuyi assured the Senate that the committee was satisfied with the qualifications, experience, and reputations of the confirmed members.
